Conecuh County Junior High Students participated in International Social-Emotional Day 2022!
Conecuh County Junior High Students participated in International Social-Emotional Day 2022! Students engaged in a social-emotional lesson today that focused on “Finding Common Ground and Pursuing Common Ground.” Students engaged in meaningful discussions about how important it is to increase awareness about SEL and mental health in our schools. Students also participated in a google survey that was shared with school social workers that focused on “Why Does Words Matter to You?” One 6th grade student shared that words can have a negative or positive impact, it is important to critically think about what we say before saying it, and words really do have power! This star student also expressed, “If it’s bad it can really hurt their feelings because words matter and can hurt people.” This is so very true and we appreciate our students displaying active listening, active participation, and a willingness to SEL learning!
