School Social Worker

Dear Parent(s) and Students,

My name is Janice Johnson, I am the School Social Worker for Conecuh County Junior High School under the Project A.W.A.R.E. grant. I wanted to introduce myself as I am one of four Social Workers posted in your schools throughout Conecuh County. I started working here in March of 2019. I am here as a resource to our schools, I assess and assist our students with Social, Emotional, and Academic behaviors and determine community resources and referrals that would benefit them and their family as well as providing support and information on different topics such as bullying and attendance. I support my schools in their use of the comprehensive, integrated, three-tiered (Ci3T) model of prevention that promotes positive behaviors with our students through positive incentives and identifies students who may need other services. I also partner with local churches and businesses to help our students and families with needs that they may have. My goal is to ensure that each student has what they need to succeed in their learning environment and to remove constraints that may be inhibiting them. If you identify a student that concerns you or you are a student that needs assistance please contact me.
I am looking forward to getting to know each of you! I hope you have a wonderful 2020-2021 school year!
